Where is Autumn?
Posted by admin in : home life , add a commentWell, first off, Happy Halloween. Today I totally forgot that it was a holiday for the little gremlins. Jason and I skipped town and went to the college so he could catch up on some school work. Today was a RARE day that the two of us had off together.
Anyways, back to the title… I think we got the short end of the stick this year. It’s the end of October and now just getting chilly. I want my Autumn back. Where do I go for that refund??
It’s taken a couple of years, but I caved… September 21, 2007

Crocs have been popular for quite some time, but I always liked my leather Nursemates. Well, my nursemates had seen better days… It was time to buy another pair of shoes. Now, regular shoe shopping, I LOVE! Shopping for work, it’s just another chore. All the girls and even docs have been wearing the Crocs. So, I decided to take the plunge. Yes they are ugly, but they SURE ARE COMFY!!!
I live for every other weekend…
Posted by admin in : home life , add a commentMost people say TGIF… living the hectic life of a full time nurse- It’s every other weekend. Unfortunately, my days off seldom coincide with Jason’s days off. Ironic, huh? Oh well, atleast my weekend started at 8:05 pm when my car pulled in the driveway. I was greeted by my two favorite four-legged friends (Abby and Avery). This was a treat in and of itself, AND the food and water bowl weren’t even EMPTY!!
This weekend, though it is much coveted, doesn’t have that much planned to it. I get to “sleep in” (Not really, but compared to getting up at 0 dark thirty each morning, 0800 sounds pretty good!) Those who know me, know that I can EASILY sleep in til 10 am. Anyway, the highlight of this weekend is my Grandmother is coming up from NJ to see my new niece. It will be great to see her; we don’t often get together as much as we would like. Then, it will be back to the mundane…dishes, laundry, etc.
Sunday will be church in the morning, followed by Jason going to work— ho hum. Maybe I’ll waste the evening surfing the ‘net. Hard to say. Then, the countdown will begin again, til that next blessed Saturday off!

A precious new addition to our family
Posted by admin in : Uncategorized , add a commentOn September 6, 2oo7, our niece was born. She is our first niece on Liz’s side of the family. She is toooo cute for words. As soon as we found out that she arrived, Jason and I drove to the hospital to see how my brother and his wife were doing and of course we just had to love on our little niece.
This is her “offical” hospital picture. It’s the only one we have with her eyes open. We were instantly in love when we got the text message from my brother that she was here.

A little tongue in cheek humor about Infertility
Posted by admin in : infertility , 1 comment so farThis video is the perfect example of what NOT to say to a couple without children.
Infertility affects one in 6 couples. Going through IF(infertility) is equal to being diagnosed with terminal cancer.
Yes, we have been married 9 years, and yes we want children. No, we aren’t selfish or career driven ppl who will regret “waiting.”
Hoping this provides some insight as well as humor.
Mindless Jibber Jabber July 27, 2007
Posted by admin in : Uncategorized , add a commentI have been informed that I need to post more frequently, like more than once every six months. So, here we are. We are basically boring people who are stuck in a routine. People will always ask, “What’s new?” Our response, “Nothing really, just working…” Kind of pathetic, eh? I’ll see if I can’t find something, but anyways, one post closer to getting rid of the blurry Christmas tree (my first post back in January!!)
Jason is Officially Back in School!!! July 25, 2007

Jason is getting his teaching certificate in Secondary Education Social Studies. He started back with classes in May of this year. He’s doing well and getting back into the swing of things. It was hard to go from teacher back to student. The biggest challenge is the technology changes that have occurred since he graduated from Ship in 1997. Right now he’s taking Economics, American Short Story, and Foundations of Education. Provided things continue to go smoothly, he’ll have his certificate in December 2008.
